PHOEBE VIGOR

Director / Writer

Phoebe Vigor is a writer, actor and director from London. She graduated from The University of Manchester with a BA in Drama and is now represented by United Agents.
In 2013, Phoebe wrote her debut play 'None The Wiser' and in 2017 she wrote an episode for a successful comedy web series 'Post Coital'. Since then she has been developing Cheers alongside other short films.
During lockdown, Phoebe became heavily involved in a local community protest against the felling of a Black Poplar tree in Battersea. She decided to make a documentary about it and is now in edit suite making the final cut. Phoebe has been working on Cheers over the past few years and it's a project very close to her heart; this will be her directorial debut.

MAARU YAMAMOTO

Producer

Maaru is a graduate with MA in Film Studies at King’s College London. She was the president of film society in her undergraduate years in Tokyo and produced several fiction shorts and documentaries about the homeless people in Shinjuku and an underground shelter of WW2 with the aim of shedding light on what people overlook or look away from in their daily lives. She came from Japan to London with a determination to work in film in the UK and currently working as an assistant for renowned production companies in London.

GEORGE BELFIELD

1st AD

George Belfield is a London based director with a sensitive and nuanced style. George gained recognition for a cathartic series of music videos. His videos for Arthur Beatrice and Richard Hawley lead to a Best New Director nomination at the UKMVAs in 2014.
In 2018 he directed ‘On The Nature of Daylight’ for Max Richter starring Elizabeth Moss. Later that year, George directed ‘The Thrill of Victory’ an evocative commercial for Amnesty International. In 2019 George Directed a series of ‘Tributes’ to Women’s England football team for Nike, starring Uk Grime artists Lady Leshurr and Little Sims. George has also just returned to the UK after directing '1899' in Berlin.

JESSICA MENSAH

2nd Assistant Director

Jessica Mensah is a Director. Her work is usually driven by stories that inspire change in society. She has trained on programmes such as: Stonecrabs Theatre Young Directors Programme (2021), the RTYDS placement at tiata fahodzi (2019) and the Young Vic’s Introduction to Directing programme. She studied BA Theatre & Performance at Guildford School of Acting, University of Surrey. Her short film I Stand Proud was nominated for two FFTG Award’s & screened as part of the festival in 2021. She is also the Host and Founder of Living in our 20s, a podcast and YouTube Channel that captures the stories of young adults in their 20s.

ESTEFANÍA CARPIO

Director of Photography

Estefanía Carpio is London based Mexican cinematographer. She recently graduated from the National Film and Television School in the UK with an MA in cinematography. She has been a member of Apertura DoP member since 2019 and is the co-founder of Bar producciones, rental house based in Mexico City. Estefania has also just premiered her graduate film 'Brutal'.

Abi studied BA at MET film school and she worked on a number of film and stage productions including 'Incriminating Mary' (2020) and 'The One Survivor of Conifer' (2021).

MA graduate from the National Film & Television School. London-based sound editor and re-recording mixer comfortable in different formats and genres, across fiction, documentary and TV. Spring Roll Dream, which he sound designed and mixed, premiered at Festival de Cannes 2022.
